Quinn's Last Cast

Today was the day for Quinn to get her last cast on.  She also had to have a tenotomy to snip her Achilles tendon so that she can move her ankle in full range.  Dr. Kontio explained all the cries that she'd have to us before he started.  We were actually allowed to stay in the room during the procedure - apparently most of the time the ortho doctors don't allow the parents to stay.  I definitely didn't want to leave little Quinn's side!  Her cries were so gut-wrenching though...made me cry and the resident rubbed my back. :P  But Quinn made it through everything with flying colours!  Dr. Kontio also said that she was one of the younger patients to have the tenotomy since usually the kids have to have more weeks of casting before the tenotomy.  She's only a little fussier than normal today (because normally she's not too fussy!), but things are going OK!
